Editorial Policy & About Us

Last updated: September 3, 2026

Draft for legal review. This document is a starting template, not finished legal advice. It's provided primarily as a trust/transparency page rather than a strict legal requirement, but portions of it (particularly around advertising claims and affiliate relationships) intersect with FTC and state advertising rules. Have a licensed attorney review before publishing.

1. Who We Are

America's Bookies is an independent media publisher covering the U.S. legal sports betting industry. We publish sportsbook reviews, educational guides, betting strategy content, and industry analysis, built for readers who want a clear, honest starting point before choosing where and how to bet. We are not a sportsbook. We do not accept wagers, and we do not hold or process any customer's betting funds - every wager placed by a reader who follows a link from this Site occurs entirely on that third-party operator's own platform.

2. Our Editorial Mission

Our goal is straightforward: give readers the information they need to choose a sportsbook and understand how betting actually works, without the marketing gloss that surrounds most of this content elsewhere online. We built this Site because most "best sportsbook" content online is written primarily to maximize affiliate revenue rather than to genuinely help the reader, and we think readers deserve better than that, even while operating, like nearly every publisher in this space, on an affiliate-supported model ourselves. See our Affiliate Disclosure for full detail on how that works and how we manage it.

3. How We Test And Review Sportsbooks

Every sportsbook reviewed on this Site is evaluated using real, funded accounts - not solely from publicly available marketing material or press releases. Our review process generally includes:

  • Opening and funding a real account through the operator's standard sign-up flow.
  • Placing real wagers across multiple sports and bet types over an extended testing window.
  • Tracking the operator's pricing against a basket of comparable lines from other licensed operators, to assess relative odds competitiveness.
  • Reading the full terms of the operator's current promotional offers, not just the headline figures.
  • Testing the app and website directly, including under higher-traffic conditions where possible.
  • Requesting and timing real withdrawals across more than one payment method where available.
  • Contacting customer support directly with realistic questions and evaluating response time and quality.

4. Our Scoring Methodology

We score each sportsbook across six weighted categories: odds and hold (30%), bonus honesty (15%), bet variety (15%), app and site quality (15%), payout speed (15%), and customer support (10%). These weights and category definitions are applied consistently across every operator reviewed, and are published openly on our Reviews hub page so readers can evaluate our process, not just our conclusions.

5. How We Handle Commercial Relationships

We participate in affiliate/referral programs with a number of the sportsbooks reviewed on this Site, meaning we may earn compensation when a reader signs up through a link on this Site (see our Affiliate Disclosure for full detail). We maintain an internal separation between our commercial relationships and our editorial conclusions: our scoring methodology is applied the same way regardless of whether a given operator currently has an affiliate relationship with us, and regardless of the commission rate attached to that relationship. We do not accept payment in exchange for a specific score, ranking position, or favorable editorial statement, and we do not remove or soften legitimate criticism of an operator because of a commercial relationship.

6. How Often We Update Content

Odds, bonus terms, and product features at every sportsbook change frequently, often without notice from the operator. We review and update our content on a rolling basis to keep pace with these changes as closely as practical, but readers should always confirm current, specific terms - particularly promotional offer details - directly on the sportsbook's own site before depositing, since our content reflects our most recent review cycle rather than a real-time feed of the operator's own terms.

7. Corrections

If you believe any content on this Site contains a factual error, an outdated figure, or a broken link, we want to know about it. Please contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL TO BE ADDED BEFORE PUBLICATION], including the specific page and detail in question, and we will review and correct the content as appropriate. We do not accept payment or other consideration in exchange for making or declining to make a correction.

8. What We Will Not Do

Consistent with the standards described throughout our legal pages, we will not: publish reviews we have not actually tested as described above; present a sportsbook's promotional terms without disclosing meaningful limitations (such as whether a bonus bet's stake is returned on a win); imply a guaranteed or near-guaranteed betting outcome; or direct content at readers below the legal minimum age for gambling in their jurisdiction.
